About Me
Juan Leva Bueno (PhD) is a Data Scientist with a strong academic foundation in Biomedical Sciences and a growing specialization in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. He holds a BSc in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and an MSc in Biomedical Sciences. He earned his PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Leeds, funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA).
His transition into data science was consolidated through a Master’s in Data Science & AI. As part of the programme, he conducted his Master’s thesis within the Digital Health research group, where he developed machine learning models for predictive health applications.
Currently, he holds a Severo Ochoa postdoctoral position at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), where he works across the Climate and Health and International Health groups. His primary responsibilities involve epidemiological modeling, integrating mathematical and machine learning methodologies. His cross-disciplinary experience allows him to bridge biomedical research with advanced computational modeling to support global public health strategies.
